Die Welt dreht sich um die Europameisterschaft im Fußball. 

Es ist begrüßenswert, dass es immer wieder weltweite Wettkämpfe zu bewundern gibt. Wie war es im Golfstaat in Katar?  Dass auf den Baustellen dieser Arenen tausende Sklavenarbeit verrichteten, zeigt die Kehrseite der Medaille. Menschenunwürdige Schlafunterkünfte und tägliche Schikane auf den WM-Baustellen ließen die Arbeiter bis an ihre körperlichen Grenzen gehen. Dazu die Hitze in dem Wüstenstaat. Die Torturen sind für diese Menschen eine Schinderei. Bei extremer Hitze von 45 Grad und mehr und ohne genug Trinkwasser starben schon hunderte Zwangsarbeiter aus Nepal, Bangladesch und Indien. Unzureichende medizinische Versorgung und die katastrophalen sanitären Verhältnisse in den Wohncontainern ließen die Arbeiter in den letzten Jahren keine Chancen auf eine Besserung erkennen. Jesus sagt: „Ihr habt gehört, dass gesagt wurde: Auge um Auge und Zahn um Zahn. Ich aber sage euch: Leistet dem, der Böses tut, keinen Widerstand! Nein! "Wenn dich einer auf die rechte Backe schlägt, dann halte ihm auch die andere hin.“ Matthäus 5, 38-39. Diese Leute sind die wahren Helden der Weltmeisterschaft 2022 in Katar. Die Welt bewundert die Spieler aus aller Welt. Aber hinter die Kulissen wollen die Funktionäre nicht schauen. Wenn es um die Opfer der Arbeiter geht, schaut diese Welt sowieso weg. Alles dreht sich um die glorreichen Spiele. Das war schon immer so. Im alten Rom wurden die Sklaven den Löwen zum Fraß vorgeworfen. Heute werden moderne Sklaven im Staub ihrer Arbeit.

"If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other cheek to him as well." Matthew 5:38-39. These people are the real heroes of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The world admires the players from all over the world. But the officials do not want to look behind the scenes. When it comes to the sacrifices of the workers, this world looks away anyway. Everything revolves around the glorious games. It has always been that way. In ancient Rome, slaves were thrown to the lions. Today, modern slaves are killed in the dust of their work.
